Waterfalls and natural pools
To the west of Tayrona Park, at kilometer marker 56 on the road to Riohacha, you will find Valencia Stream, a small river that flows to the sea.
The waterfalls here form a series of dramatic cascades of water, and of especially high volume during the winter months. Natural pools form at the bottom of these waterfalls, where you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the middle of the rainforest, surrounded by enormous trees towering to more than 25 meters (80 feet) high.
Valencia Stream is considered a natural reserve where, in addition to the waterfalls, you can see a great variety of plants and animals. |
